CONNECT…INSPIRE…EMPOWER
A professional development/enrichment workshop designed for teachers that
will enhance your knowledge and skills as you integrate multicultural curriculum
into your classroom.
This two-day workshop will provide K – 12 teachers with proven activities
and strategies for teaching African American history and culture topics in an
engaging way. Taught by master teachers, the workshops are held during the
summer and during a weekend in December in special preparation for Black
History Month (February).
This workshop will help you:
1. CONNECT with your students and better understand their cultural
background and heritage
2. INSPIRE students to work harder, therefore perform better in the
classroom
3. EMPOWER students as they strive for excellence with enhanced belief in
themselves and their abilities
Fee: $475 (limit of 25 per workshop)*
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Teacher Resources: Each workshop participant will receive a copy of American
Legacy’s Black History Curriculum Guide and Know Your History Board Game!
If a workshop is held for an individual school district with 25 participants, the district
would receive a one-day visit from American Legacy’s Know Your History Mobile Truck
Exhibit (subject to availability and schedule).
