The 2009 American Legacy Challenge™ is coming to selected U.S. cities! The Challenge is a fun, educational trivia game show, sponsored by American Family Insurance , designed to encourage all students to showcase their knowledge of African-American history. Any high schools and/or students in participating cities can expand their knowledge of American history by participating in this unique event. American Legacy magazine will supply the educational materials; you supply the brainpower! Contestants representing one or more high schools in a participating school district can sign up to take part in The American Legacy Challenge. In each city, pre-test events will be held with top competitors moving on to the semi-finals. Semifinal round winners will compete in a single championship game called the Ultimate Challenge. This final competition will determine the Challenge winners for each school district, and each champion will receive a cash prize. The Challenge, created by Pedagogue LLC, is based on American Legacy's Curriculum Guide, which provides recommended coursework that can be used throughout the year as part of ongoing history education. Curriculum Guides will be supplied to participating schools to help students prepare for The Challenge. High schools or students interested in participating in the American Legacy Challenge may get event details and register online here. STUDENTS: Expand your mind, study with friends and family, and invite members of your community to come watch you show what you know! PARENTS: Encourage your children to take part in this family-friendly, inspirational event! EDUCATORS: Sign your students up for an enlightening experience that will build their self-esteem and confidence, as well as their knowledge of American history! Developed by |
