Who's buying, who's selling in the world of high-end real estate:

Apple CEO Wants Out Of Big Apple

Just a California boy at heart.
Next year, when Steve Jobs comes to New York's Macworld Expo, he may have to book a hotel room. The 46-year-old chief turtleneck of Apple Computer (nasdaq: AAPL - news - people ) reportedly listed his austere Manhattan apartment on the market for an unabashed $14.5 million. The apartment itself is said to cover the top two floors of the San Remo, one of the most prestigious buildings on Central Park West. Despite what must be great views of the park, not to mention considerable entertaining space, the apartment has only two bedrooms.

Jobs has much more space to work with in his Palo Alto, Calif., home: He was so concerned about privacy that he bought the property next door (he reportedly got a great deal on the house, paying a paltry $1 million in 1997). After Jobs bought the historical neighboring home, he upset locals with plans to demolish it to build an apricot orchard. Palo Altans were none too pleased.

Steve Jobs zoomed into Manhattan this week for the Macworld Expo, where he discussed some "exciting" new features for the Macintosh operating system, Mac OS X.

Sandra Bullock On The Move

What she really needs is a hit.
Sandra Bullock shoved sentimentality aside and sold the Hollywood Hills home she lived in when she first started out in Hollywood in the early 1990s. The home was sold for somewhere in the mid-$700,000s, according to a Los Angeles Times report. The home itself, which she reportedly shared with her sister, is a Mediterranean-style property, spanning 2,200 square feet. It was built in 1925 and has four bedrooms, a couple of patios and ocean views.

Bullock, who turns 38 at the end of the month, has been spotted in and around Manhattan recently shooting the romantic comedy Two Weeks' Notice with British import Hugh Grant. Although Bullock has shown a preference for romantic chick flicks, she bucked the trend with her most recent film, Murder by Numbers, in which she starred as detective Cassie Mayweather, investigating a local murder. Bullock was also the executive producer of the movie, but that didn't stop critics from panning America's favorite girl next door. Village Voice critic Dennis Lim called Bullock the film's "worst enemy."

McMahon's McMansion

Nice to the right people.
World Wrestling Entertainment (nyse: WWE - news - people ) owner Vince McMahon may specialize in threatening his enemies with unique acts of violence, but to contractors working on his apartment, he's a perfect gent. The 56-year-old wrestler and executive recently bought a 10,000-square-foot vacation apartment in the Excelsior in Boca Raton, Fla., and finished construction just a couple months ago, according to a Miami Herald report. Vince and his wife, Linda McMahon, were said to be exceedingly gracious to the workers. The McMahons reportedly were installing a variety of unique features to their apartment, including granite floors and a sophisticated control panel for their lights, stereo and drapes.

Vince McMahon is ranked by Forbes as the 364th richest American, with a fortune estimated at $700 million. Not all his media plans have been successful, though. His now-defunct Xtreme Football League, which launched in 2000 and lasted only one season, ranks as the third worst television program of all time, as rated by TV Guide. But McMahon has a couple of victories to celebrate. The WWE recently reported an upswing in quarterly revenue and settled its lawsuit with the Parents Television Council, which revolved around statements the PTC made linking several children's deaths to WWE SmackDown!. WWE will receive $3.5 million and a nicely worded apology from the PTC.
